Craig Jones
Hi, I'm Craig
TROY RESIDENT FOR 25 YEARS
I was born and raised in Montgomery County. My father was a teacher at West Montgomery High School where I graduated in 1977. I have lived in Troy for 25 years. I married a Troy girl, the love of my life, Lisa Gaddy, in 1983. Our son Graham, graduated from West and now lives in Raleigh. Lisa and I are members of First Presbyterian Church.
BUSINESS LEADERSHIP EXPERIENCE
After attending NC State University I went to work for Standard Packaging in Mt. Gilead eventually becoming the Operations Manager with responsibility for 150 employees. Departing amicably from Standard after 13 years I achieved a better opportunity for myself and my family and became Head of New Truck sales at Crook Motors in Albemarle where I have remained for 27 years.
VOLUNTEERISM
My parents taught me to give back to my community and for 25 years I’ve tried to do just that. I have been a board member for FirstHealth Montgomery Foundation, the Montgomery County Community Fund, and the Central NC Council Boy Scouts of America. I received the Silver Beaver Award from the Boy Scouts for exceptional volunteerism. I am a past president of the West Montgomery HS Booster Club and served on the School Improvement Committee there.
WHY I WANT TO RUN FOR MAYOR
I have a vision for a greater Troy. A place that we can all be proud of. A place new people will want to move to and where our children can grow up and have the option to stay here because they can find a meaningful livelihood.
